From the preface of "Porolaids" (Japanese translation)

My Beloved Polaroid "Why can't you see the photos you take right away?" Polaroid was born from a simple question asked by a scientist's daughter.
My first encounter with Polaroid was with the legendary SX-70, a camera that is still associated with Polaroid today.
Click! Click! The gorgeous sound of the shutter and the impressive sound of the camera opening.
Each and every sound was the beginning of my photography career and a story.
In 1993, he began taking photographs of decaying things on Earth using Type 55 film.
After three years, the brown objects begin to decay even in the photographs.
Where will all this decaying stuff go?
All I could think about was a mysterious universe caused by the birth and death of all things.
The faded positive is treated as a negative, and the RGB is inverted to create a color photograph.
This is the "COSMIC Series," born from the fusion of analog and digital.
In 2000, his work was collected by the Polaroid Gallery and toured the world as part of the exhibition The POLAROID PROJECT from 2017 to 2024.
I've been in love with Polaroids for decades.
My love for the subject has led me to turn all the photos I have taken up to now into Polaroids, and compile them here as a collection of works as an homage.
It's called "POROLAID."
A Polaroid is not a Polaroid, but it is still a Polaroid.
